Precision and Craftsmanship in Every Slice

The Kazoku Kaji Petty (13.5 cm) is a razor-sharp, versatile knife designed for precision cutting tasks in the kitchen. This beautifully crafted petty knife features a striking design and an exceptional steel treatment process that sets it apart from traditional knives. With its unique hammering technique, the Kaji Petty reduces food sticking to the blade, ensuring cleaner cuts with every use.

SLD Steel for Superior Sharpness
The Kaji Petty is forged from high-quality SLD steel, which boasts a high carbon content (1.5%) for added hardness (61-62 Rockwell). This makes the blade exceptionally sharp and durable, while the inclusion of 11-13% chromium ensures it is rust-resistant, combining the best of both strength and corrosion resistance.

Stainless Sanmai Construction
The knife features Stainless Sanmai construction, where the hard core of the blade is encased in two layers of soft stainless steel. This construction method delivers a fine balance between excellent edge retention and ease of sharpening, giving you the performance of a carbon steel knife without the added maintenance.

Unique Hammering Process
Kazoku’s innovative hammer blow processing gives the Kaji Petty its signature design. Unlike traditional hammering, a special hammer is used to treat the steel, which results in a blade that resists food from sticking during cutting, providing smoother and more efficient slicing through vegetables, fruits, and delicate proteins.

Traditional Japanese Handle
The handle of the Kaji Petty is a traditional Japanese octagonal shape, crafted from premium oak with a bolster made of rengas wood. This ergonomic design ensures a secure and comfortable grip, even with wet hands, providing excellent control for detailed, precise cutting.
