Kazoku — 家族

Our Family.
Our Steel.

The kitchen is where meals are cooked, stories are shared,
and time is spent together. At Kazoku, the tools you use
should support those moments.

In Japanese, Kazoku means family. That idea shapes everything we do.

Born on a
sharpening stone

Kazoku Knives did not start as a brand concept. It started in 1980, inside our family business in Amsterdam: Meesterslijpers.

Our founder, René Djuricek, grew up surrounded by steel and grinding wheels. Over the years, we sharpened more than 10,000 knives and learned what truly works in daily cooking.

That experience taught us to judge knives by performance, not promises.

New brand. Decades of trust. Kazoku is built by the same family behind Meesterslijpers and Knivesworld, with over 40,000 five‑star reviews.

Our reason

Why Kazoku exists

After decades of selling and sharpening knives, one thing became impossible to ignore. Many knives were simply too expensive for what they offered.

The steel did not justify the price. The quality did not match the story.

Kazoku was created to offer honest value for money. Well chosen steel. Sensible construction. A price that makes sense.

From affordable everyday knives to refined Japanese series, good knives should be accessible to anyone who enjoys cooking.

On food & family

Cooking brings
people together

As a family, the most important moments happen around the table. Sharing food. Talking. Taking time for each other.

Good food brings people together. But good food starts with good ingredients and the right tools. A sharp, well‑balanced knife protects flavour and texture. It makes cooking calmer and more enjoyable.

Kazoku knives are made for real meals. Weeknight dinners. Long evenings with friends.
